Amber and I have known each other for a long time. I know, she doesn’t look it, but it’s true. We first connected when I was looking for someone to come down to Portland and talk about Pinterest for a marketing workshop I was putting on. She volunteered. She did great, and ended up attending a few of my Agents of Change Digital Marketing Conferences that I put on every September here in Portland. At one, she ended up talking to Chris Ducker, Pat Flynn, and Greg Hickman…three luminaries in my industry (digital marketing.) They filled her head with great ideas, and how she needed to share her expertise with the world. Or at least fellow event planners.  Fast forward to this summer, and Amber and I had a meeting to discuss a couple of ideas she had, including putting on an event to teach wedding and event professionals how to better market themselves. I loved the idea, and wanted to call it “Agents of Matrimony.” Even though there were only two of us, somehow I was outvoted.
